MEMORIAL VINCENT A ‘SKIP’ SCAMELL, JR RITZ COMPANY PLAYERS, PRESIDENT, ACTOR –BOARD MEMBER 1974-2009 It is with intense sadness that we report the death of our beloved friend and fellow theatre member, Skip Scamell. Skip was such a large part of the fabric and personality of the Ritz Theatre it is difficult to imagine what the Ritz will be like without him. Farewell dear friend. You will be missed more than you could possibly imagine. |
Skip appeared in over 100 plays and musicals at the Ritz, not counting virtually
every Christmas production since 1975. Our 2008 Christmas show was the first
one in which Skip did not appear. Skip never said ‘No’ to a road-trip to perform in
some crazy ‘gig’s’ for the theatre. He was the personification of a real ‘trooper’.

His twinkling eyes, ready laugh and perfect ‘double
take’ will be missed more than words can express.
There will be one less light burning in the marquee,
and the stage will be a little dimmer this year
because of his absence.
